Lexington a Finalist in Blue Ridge Outdoors Magazine’s Top Adventure Town Contest
LEXINGTON, VA (August 22, 2019) – Lexington, Virginia is once again a contender in the Top Adventure Town Contest by Blue Ridge Outdoors Magazine.
The Blue Ridge Outdoors team narrowed the field to 80 contenders for the eighth annual Top Adventure Towns Contest, sponsored by Sweetwater Brewing Company. Lexington competes against 19 others in the Small Town category, identified as those with a population of 3,001 to 16,000.
The town with the most votes in each category will be featured in the November/ December issue of Blue Ridge Outdoors Magazine.
“Outdoor adventure is the lifeblood of this region, and our readers have their fingers on the pulse,” says Editor in Chief Will Harlan. “We’re hoping that folks rally around their favorite outdoor towns and help us showcase the best outdoor destinations.”
“The greater Lexington area has much to offer outdoor enthusiasts,” says Patty Williams, Director of Marketing for Rockbridge Area Tourism. “One of Virginia’s finest natural marvels is the Natural Bridge of Natural Bridge State Park, and it is one of the ‘Must-Do Outdoor Activities’ identified by the Blue Ridge Outdoors team as a reason to vote for Lexington. The other two notable outdoor activities are the Upper James River Water Trail and the Chessie Nature Trail, both incredible experiences for locals and visitors alike.”
