Weddings of up to 250 guests are welcome. Food and beverages are included as part of every delicious, romantic wedding package. Ten guestrooms at the Main Lodge are available for overnight accommodations or wedding preparations. Linger to enjoy horseback riding, hiking, biking, and fishing on the 1,000-acre private property.
This brand new, exclusive boutique facility is nestled on 72 private acres and offers magnificent panoramic views of Shenandoah Valley, the Blue Ridge and Appalachian Mountains. Built with an eye on luxury, the new barn has elegant finishes like distressed plank floors and ceilings, shiplap walls, French doors, and a dramatic 75-foot veranda. Designed to make the most of natural light indoors and out, there’s also an incredible sound system, high-end climate control system, and plenty of comfortable places to sit.
During the first wedding held at the event, for the owners’ daughter, guests described the space as “modern rustic chic” with some elements reminiscent of “Game of Thrones” and “Beauty and the Beast.”
Accommodating up to 200 guests, ceremonies can be held in the gorgeous barn or on the beautiful lawn dotted with three fire pits and inviting Adirondack chairs. An incredible loft with a wrought iron balcony overlooks the grand hall with stone fireplace; it’s an elegant spot for the bride to dress before the wedding plus a lovely space for photos.
This farm’s namesake and centerpiece, a ten-acre spring-fed lake, also happens to be one of Virginia’s largest undeveloped springs: It pumps 3.3 million gallons of water every day! With eyes trained to recognize beauty, the owners selected this unique site after working as wedding photographers for a decade. Surrounded by mountains, the renovated 150-year-old barn serves as the primary event space for weddings of up to 300 guests, though tents are an option.
Ceremonies can be held in the barn, on the front porch, on a hillside with mountain views, or on a peninsula that juts into the lake. The farmhouse, which can serve as a bridal suite, was originally built in the 1840s and has been completely renovated to retain its authentic character while adding modern conveniences. The property is located just seven minutes from Lexington, where accommodation options abound.
Heartstone Lodge at South River Highlands Country Retreat
Surrounded by rolling hills and stunning mountains, this peaceful 250-acre property boasts five different outdoor settings including a historic barn, grapevine-covered pergola, fish pond, meditation garden, and wooden gate. Accommodating up to 150 guests for up to 12 weddings each year, the century-old dairy barn has been completed refurbished with an elegant-rustic vibe.
Overnight accommodations for up to 35 guests are available in a variety of spaces including the Lodge, studios, plus five authentic historic log cabins. Before and after the ceremony, wander the grounds to discover inviting spaces from hidden nooks to artistic sculptures to hiking trails.
Described by Thomas Jefferson as “the most sublime of nature’s work,” this 30-story solid rock formation arches over the waters of Cedar Creek and serves as a grand backdrop for weddings of up to 250 guests.
Wooden benches form an aisle while a small walkway near the creek allows state park visitors to pass (the park remains open to the public during weddings, so best to anticipate some observers). This natural wonder, estimated to be at least 500 million years old, hosts up to 30 weddings each year; multiple weddings can be scheduled in a day.
