Event Description
Axis Mundi and the Environmental Studies Department will be hosting sustainable farmer and writer Joel Salatin for a talk in Stackhouse Theater on March 19th at 7 P.M. Salatin has been featured in the food films "Food Inc." and "Fresh," and figured prominently in Michael Pollan's bestselling 2006 book "The Omnivore's Dilemma." Salatin owns and operates Polyface Farms outside of Staunton, VA. Axis Mundi's theme for the school year is rootedness, which we will hope to discuss with Salatin, along with industrial agriculture and alternatives to it.
