Church Hill at Timber Ridge
Church Hill is the grand Manor built by the local Rev. Horatio Thompson in 1848 about 5 miles outside of Lexington city limits in Timber Ridge, VA. Timber Ridge is the original location of Liberty Hall which is now known as Washington and Lee University.
In 2001, the manner known as Church Hill was used as the setting for several scenes in the Ted Turner, Warner Bros. movie "Gods and Generals." The sprawling property where Church Hill stands is widely known as being the birthplace of Texas legend Sam Houston and it’s been a destination for many Texans over the years. The home is listed on the State Registry as well as the National Register of historic places.
The recently renovated 5-bedroom home is built on 75 rolling acres and features high ceilings and wide plank original hardwood floors. Visitation is by reservation only so call or log on to make your reservation today!
