Lester Zook

My name is Lester Zook and I own WILD GUYde Adventures, providing rock climbing, caving, and canoeing guide services since 2004. I am an AMGA Certified Single Pitch Climbing Instructor and a Wilderness First Responder. My doctoral degree is from the University of Virginia, and my favorite colors are blue and green. I am married to Robin, a father of 4, and a grand-dad of 2.

I started climbing in high school in central Pennsylvania, as a result of hearing a presentation at a boys club at my church. I have climbed in Pennsylvania, New York, New Hampshire, Virginia, West Virginia, Oregon, California, Colorado, and Wyoming.

We moved herre from Pennsylvania 27 years ago to teach at Eastern Mennonite University, and have raised our family here. Can't think of a better place for an outdoor loving family!

Seeing folks enjoying a personal challenge in the amazing outdoor world is my passion. Climbing can also help certain kids connect to physical activity in ways that traditional team sports (soccer, basketball) can't.

My favorite place to climb in Rockbridge is Goshen Pass, high above the Maury River.
